As the ski season approaches, we are reminded of all the fun times we have had at the lodge and ways in which we can be respectful of the Lodge itself, other Members and our neighbors.

Please do:

  • Park tight. We have 5 spaces in front of the Lodge.
  • Rent a locker for the season if you plan to leave for your skis while not staying at the Lodge.
  • Be respectful of others when you are using your cell phone in the Lodge.
  • Clean all of your food items out of the refrigerator when you leave.
  • Turn heat to “low” upstairs and set thermostats to 55 in the bedrooms and bathrooms.
  • Close drapes
  • New garbage system for 2025-2026: We are now using the MRG dumpsters for garbage and recycling. Bagged garbage (red bags only) should be put in the left dumpster and loose recycling (not bagged) in the right dumpster behind the Practice Slope Chair.
  • Think snow!!

Locker rentals available for the 2025-26 season. For more information, visit here….

Announcing the Legacy Fund

Securing the Club’s Future, a letter from president Jeff Hopkins:

Dear Members,

Our club was founded in April of 1931 and in the late 1950’s the membership came together and undertook an ambitious project to create a common gathering place by raising funds and constructing the lodge we know and love today. As we approach the club’s centennial it is time for us to come together and take on another ambitious project that honors the legacy of our founding members and secures the future of our club.

Over the past decade we have had to make numerous investments from rebuilding our club website to installing a new roof, new water heaters, and more recently remodeling the bathrooms. Each time we undertook one of these projects it was in reaction to a problem that required immediate attention. In these situations, we were forced to scrape together funds from our operating budget, seek gifts from, and/or borrow money from our generous club members to complete the project. Over the next few years we will have to make more investments in our club and our lodge. Most immediately we need to upgrade our fireplace to meet current code and insurance standards. We believe that there is a better, more sustainable model for funding major projects that will allow us to become more front-footed and strategic in our thinking and planning for the future of the club.

The ASCNY Board of Directors is pleased to announce the launch of a capital campaign designed to create a sustainable Legacy Fund that will secure the future of our club and allow us to strategically plan future projects. As we’ve heard from so many members the fireplace is the warm centerpiece that on so many Saturday afternoons and evenings becomes the beating heart of our club, where our collection of amateurs — our members who so love skiing that we will brave whatever the elements throw at us — gather to share stories of powder and trees and rocks and stumps. Our Legacy Fund is being designed with a governance structure that ensures funds are used on strategic improvements that sustain our club and lodge ensuring we will be able to gather to ski and socialize well into and beyond the next 100 years.

Our revised goal is to raise $225,000 in 2025-2026, up from an original goal of $150,000. Thanks to the generosity of our members, we are likely to pass the original goal and can reach our revised goal . If you would like to learn more about the campaign or how to contribute, please click here.

If you have not been up to the lodge yet this winter, I encourage you to make the trip to enjoy improvements we have already made and to re-connect in a tangible way to the spirit of our club and the mountain we love; if a trip to Vermont is not in the cards for you this season, I look forward to seeing you at one of the coming off-season events.

Think Snow!
