Lodge Etiquette / “Golden Rules”

Members will demonstrate hospitality, courtesy, kindness and respect to all other members, guests and the MRG community. 

Please let the spirit of the club and the Golden Rules guide your experience at the Lodge as you spend time with your own group, fellow members, and guests.

Staying at the Lodge:

  1. Upon arrival, please sign the guest registry located at the top of the stairs.
  2. Room assignments are posted on the ASCNY website – switching rooms is not permitted.
  3. Only five cars may be parked in front of the lodge; overflow parking is in the main MRG lot across Route 17.
  4. All boots and skis are to be kept in the boot room or lockers. No ski boots are to be worn inside the Lodge.
  5. Every ski day and upon departure, turn bedroom and bathroom thermostats to 50 degrees and propane heaters upstairs and in the boot room to the lowest setting. Do NOT turn off thermostats. Turn off all lights.
  6. Enjoy the kitchen and help with clean-up and loading and unloading of the dishwasher.
  7. Enjoy the fireplace. Help by bringing in wood.
  8. Towels and sheet sets may be found in the linen closet at the end of the hall by bedrooms C & D.
  9. Cleaning supplies, paper goods, light bulbs, and the vacuum are kept in the closet under the stairs. Please do your part to contribute to an overall positive experience by helping to maintain a clean and orderly Lodge.
  10. Garbage must be placed in pre-purchased red garbage bags provided by MRG. Full red garbage bags should be placed in the MRG dumpster by the Practice Slope Chair (the dumpster on the left); recycling must be clean and not in a plastic bag of any kind and placed into the recycling dumpster (the dumpster on the right) by the Practice Slope Chair.
  11. Report any Lodge maintenance issues to the Lodge Committee when they occur, not after returning home.
  12. Computers and other screens may be used upstairs except during the social hours of 3:00 pm – 10:00pm.
  13. Music may be played at a respectable volume in the shared areas of the Lodge with permission of other members and guests between the hours of 3:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
  14. Phone and video conversations, and videos without headphones, are restricted to the lower level and boot room at all times.
  15. Do not put wet clothes on electric or Rinnai heaters to dry – EVER.
  16. No smoking – EVER.

Children

  1. Children of all ages should conduct themselves in a manner that allows all members and guests to have a pleasant stay at the Lodge.
  2. Clean up all toys and games and return them to their proper place.
  3. All diapers must be double-bagged if placed in an interior trash receptacle.
  4. Children age 10-and-under may not be left at the Lodge without a parent or designated chaperone.

Upon Departure

  1. Strip beds, leave pillows and blankets neatly folded on the bed.
  2. Place stripped bed linens and used towels in the closet under the stairs.
  3. Turn bedroom and bathroom thermostats down to 50 degrees. Turn the propane heaters upstairs and in the boot room to the lowest setting. DO NOT turn off thermostats.
  4. Turn off all lights.
  5. During peak holiday weeks, please be out of your room by 11:00 a.m. on your departure day. Feel free to leave luggage neatly stacked in the corner while you are out skiing.
  6. Last to leave
    – Check that all lights are off.
    – Check that thermostats have been turned down (do not turn off).
    – Take out any remaining trash and recycling.
    – Check the fireplace for hot coals; if the fire is completely out, please close the flue.
    – Close curtains and lock doors.
